I recently helped a friend move into a 130-year-old farmhouse in Southwest Ohio (western hills of Cincinnati) and noticed by the old carriage house in back two trees about 10-13 feet high that have leaves that look IDENTICAL to poison ivy. I pointed them out to my friend and she scoffed and said that poison ivy never grows into a tree-sized plant. She may be right, but I can spot poison ivy easily even when growing among other plants. These trees truly look like poison ivy. How big can it get as a free-standing shrub?
