I am no expert at all on this.  but I do have a concern about exfoliation, and it is this.  The reason that skin dies off and flakes off on it's own is that the epidermis protects you from bacteria.  Now if you exfoliate too much, you've shortcutted nature's process and have now exposed yourself to bacteria that will invade. A doctor friend has even cautioned me not to shave while treating the poison ivy because that is basically an exfoliation process, too when you think about it -- and worse --- unless you change your blades every single day --- think about all the nasty beasts just waiting for an opportunity.   As bad as poison ivy is, a bacterial infection is worse. Long answer, but depending on how you exfoliate, you could introduce bacteria.
