| I just planted an African sumac for shade in my back yard. I now (1 week later) have a rash just like poison sumac that started within one day and has now spread on both legs, my right arm, face and torso. None of the plant or medical people have ever heard of an African sumac causing this type of rash. When I lived on the east coast, I was highly allergic to poison sumac and had several bouts treated with steroids and everything else. I need to know if I will be able to enjoy my backyard with this tree in it. Any help that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. I'm afraid to go near it right now and am afraid that one of my dogs might rub against it and spread it to me. HELP!! |
