I had a small rash on my arm from poison ivy that I contacted about 4 days prior.  Well, four days after my infection I was with a friend.  A couple of weeks later she told me that when she got home that night her hand started to itch and swell and there was a small rash on the back of her hand.  She said she knew she had gotten it from me. 

My question is can someone get an allergic reaction from someone else with a small poison ivy rash, when basically all they did as far as contacting each other is letting her hold my baby and giving her a candy bar?
