Thanks for the nice comments. I can actually be reached through the feedback form (link at bottom of the page) for offline conversations. I tend to answer in the evenings on this board as I do try to pretend I have a life :-)
Yes it's true about Jim and I and this website. This site was Jim's idea after he had a really nasty poison ivy rash a few years ago. He built it and maintained it over the last few years. I joined in this year more seriously and did an overhaul. Somewhere in the process I got hooked on learning more about poisonous plants, allergic contact dermatitis, and plant identification. Man - this is a really weird hobby and its a true labor of love. There is a lot of information (and misinformation) available on the web that we're driven to try and identify the best out there.
It seems that once you have a nasty rash, you want to learn everything you can about it (mostly how to make it go away). You'll be citing weird facts about poison oak for years to come. But you also now know that it is finite - relief will come. So the little bit of trivia for today? Drinking alcoholic beverages as it can make you more sensitive to allergens. I think I'll keep drinking the alcoholic beverages as my granny used to say its very therapeutic. :-) |
