I've had a chance to put up the pictures of the ashleaf maple which is that climb-over-the-composter tree I mentioned. I finally was able to identify the tree after pouring through 5 field guides and several dozen websites. YUCK! The ashleaf maple is prone to sprouting at the base and caused me to do some serious head-scratching as I initially thought this was poison ivy. There are some definite poison ivy look-alikes in the tree realm.
