This creeper made my left arm a weeper. My husband and I were clearing this wicked plant from a wooden fence in my dad's back yard (in St. Louis). Neither my husband nor I spotted any of the more notorious plants (e.g., poison ivy) nearby. The first sign of the creeper attack was a black horseshoe-like shape on my shoulder. It took about a day for the rashes to set in, and my shoulder was swollen red and crusty with weepy wounds.
The shot of DepoMedrol (still feeling it a day later), oral prednisone, and antibiotic seem to be doing the trick. I'm using Caladryl for relief only -- it didn't seem dry up the rashes one bit.
Advice - don't waste time self-treating. See a doctor right away!
